Claire's first Christmas

In an effort not to spoil our child, Mark and I decided to only get her one gift, a sweet little fur coat and matching hat. We figured everyone else would be getting her stuff and we were right. Actually, it was pretty rediculous, this poor baby isn't loved at all! Here are some of my favorite pics from Christmas morning and through out the day. I hope everyone else had a blessed Christmas too.

pee monster

Ever since I started back to school in September, Mark has had to wake up with the baby in the morning to feed her since I'm already gone by then. This actually works out really well because he loves waking her up and spending time with her, he says it's his favorite part of the day. And every morning when he walks in, she's either asleep or just laying there waiting for one of us to come and get her. Yesterday morning though, Mark walked in and saw Claire peeking over her crib railing. She had somehow managed to grasp the railing and then prop her self up on the bumber just enough so she could peek her little head over. She was just looking around waiting for someone to get her. When Mark picked her up though he realized that she had filled up her diaper to its limit and she was completely soaked in pee. Poor baby was waiting for someone to come and save her from the pee monster.

Visitors

This past weekend we were so excited to have 4 of our favorite people come to visit us. Stacee, Ben, Madelyn and Ellie. Oh what fun we had! The girls were too cute together. There's something so funny about watching little ones interact with each other. Claire just loved Madelyn but didn't quite know what to think about Ellie. Madelyn just loved Claire but Ellie wasn't quite sure what to think about Claire. We all had a pretty great time despite the embarrasingly horrible game we all watched on Saturday night...pretty sure I don't need to specify which one that was :(

Here are some pics of the girls...

Big Girl Food

We finally decided it was time to start Claire on rice cereal. For the last few weeks she's been completely obsessed with watching us eat our food so we figured she was ready to graduate to the very yummy rice cereal. She actually did a really good job. Here are some pics...

Christmas Pics!

I can't believe it's almost Christmas time again! Christmas is my absolute most favorite time of the year, and Claire just happens to be my absolute most favorite baby girl. So of course, I was counting down the days to get her Christmas pictures made. I had originally set the appointment for next week but just couldn't wait any longer and asked if they could squeeze us in today. I left school early and was excited to see when I arrived home that Claire was in a great mood. She smiled and laughed all the way to the portrait place and then... she completly shut down. It was literally like she had used up all of her smiles. I was so distraught to see this because I really wanted some cute pictures. Luckily my lovely mother in law accompanied us to the studio to help out and she didn't disappoint. She made noises I had never heard before and at one point even danced a little jig. Whatever she did, it worked. We were able to catch a few great shots of her pretty little smile.

The very last poses were saved for her snow bunny look. By this time she was looking at us like we were crazy, and definitely not smiling.

I also unfortunately didn't realize that this dress didn't have a diaper cover with it, so she flashed her diaper several times...poor baby.

Lost in Laundry

As a new mommy, sometimes I find myself needing an extra set of hands to do simple things I used to take for granted. For example, the laundry. I have to take all of Claire's laundry upstairs to her room to fold and put away. Since I can't carry her and the basket at the same time, I've always made 2 trips upstairs. Not anymore! I plopped Claire In the laundry basket today... she seemed to really enjoy it too.

Claire Needs Your Vote!

Ok, So this might come as a shocker but...I think that my baby is pretty dang cute! I have officially become one of THOSE parents...shamelessly sending endless emails and pictures, thinking my baby is the cutest, sweetest, most genius baby in the whole wide world. So, staying true to my new mommy image... I have entered Claire in Kiss FM's "Most Kiss-able Baby Contest". So, for everyone out there who would like to help Claire advance...here's the scoop.

Texas Fight!

As I have previously stated my hubby REALLY likes football. He explained to me that Texas/OU was like Christmas in October for him. So despite my hesitations, I agreed to let him go to the game in spite of the pricey ticket costs. He of course was elated that they won and even more excited about the pictures we sent to him during the game of Claire Bear cheering his team on...

Lubbock Fun and 3 month Pics

So, I'm afraid I'm going to be skipping a few months of blogging as I just don't have time to catch up at the moment. We decided to take a long over due trip to Lubbock. I needed to catch up with my bestie Stacee and see some family and friends. I also thought it would be a great time to have Denae take Claire's 3 month pictures. Mark of course wanted to go to a football game. If I haven't yet explained and if you don't have the pleasure of knowing him personally...Mark is a freaking football fanatic. His favorite teams are Texas and the Cowboys but honestly he watches them ALL and was sooooo excited at the chance to go to a Tech game. So, alas...we planned our trip around a game...the Tech/ U Mass game. This apparently was not a great game to go to as Tech completly kicked there butts, but I wouldn't know because Stacee and I didn't make it into the actual stadium until half time (and that was just to take a lap around the stadium to people watch). We quickly decided to leave our husbands and make our way back to Chimmey's for more girl talk and cocktails. It turned out perfect, Stace and I had our fun and the boys had there's!

Here's a pic of us girls from the trip!

Besides going to the game and seeing all of our loved ones, we wanted to get our pictures taken with Denae. I had seen the great work she'd done with Stacee's kids and wanted to get in on the fun too! We met up with her at the Garden and Arts Center on Friday morning. I unfortunately was a bad mommy and completely didn't plan for Claire's eating and napping time. She was a little fussy but I think we got some really great pics. Here are some of my favorites...
